Good to know
- When to register a business name: You trade under anything other than your own name. Adding a word before or after your name means you must register.Source
- To register a sole proprietorship, create an OCBR account, reserve the name (staff review it, and the fee is not refunded), then register. Registration lasts three years.Source
- To incorporate, create an OCBR account and reserve the name there. With the PIN and key you receive, file the incorporation and pay. The certificate and articles come by email.Source
- While records move to the new registry, you may need to search both the new registry and the original one.Source
- OCBR does not work on phones or tablets.Source
